I began my ministry as Pastor of Christ’s Community Church on June 8, 2008. Prior to that I served in various ministry positions at Judson Baptist Church in Walker, LA, serving as Youth Pastor, Children’s Pastor and Minister of Education.
As a native and lifelong resident of Livingston Parish, I have a heart to encourage and lead believers in their walk with Christ and to reach the lost in our community. I also challenge the believers at Christ’s Community Church to not just attend church, but to also “Be the Church,” by serving our community in order to lead them into a relationship with Christ.
I am married to Shannon Martin Easley who faithfully serves alongside me. Together we have four children, Brooke (Josh), Drew (Sammi), Callie (Niko) and Shane. We also have six grandchildren: Priya, Joshua, Will, Mary, Walter and Judah.
I received my theological education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and have served in ministry in Livingston Parish since 1997.

As Associate Pastor and Worship Leader, I’m involved in the creation, organization and implementation of Sunday morning services. I’m also involved in most mechanical and technical aspects of the ministries of CCC, including presentation and streaming.
As of November 2025, I’ve spent 41years involved in mostly the technical aspects of church ministry. For the first 25 years I was responsible for production (sound, video, lighting) in local churches. The last 15 plus years, as a worship leader at CCC, God has shown that He can use the most “unqualified” people if we are willing.
It’s my belief that everyone who comes through the doors of CCC is there because God leads them there. I’ve seen God use the most unqualified for years, so my goal is just to be “available” for Him to use me as He sees fit, knowing that every person we encounter deserves to be loved as Christ loves us.
My spiritual gift is “helps,” so my goal in each and every situation is just to be present and look for what God is doing and get involved. Mostly I want people to see that God’s plan almost never looks like ours. “Without faith, it’s impossible to please Him.”
My wife, Sherilyn, and I have been married for over 40 years and we have 3 children – Taylor, Micah, and Cameron. Our son Taylor has two sons; Gavin and Guy. Our daughter Micah is married to Derick and they have two daughters; Maggie and Lily. And our youngest daughter Cameron is married to Doug.

I am a native of Walker, LA. I was born as one of twin boys to Edward and Annie Carpenter. I was raised going to church, but it was at the age of 10 that I understood the Gospel and repented of my sins and accepted Christ as my Savior.
At 15, while at a summer youth camp, I felt God calling me to preach. I received a B.A. in Bible with a minor in Greek from Southern Methodist College. I also married Linda Yoder.
I pastored a church in Summerton, South Carolina for three years, where my daughter Jessica was born. Afterwards I and my family went to study Spanish at Rio Grande Bible Institute and Language School. My son Stephen was born there. After finishing language studies, we went to Oaxaca, Mexico, where I mainly served in leadership training for a year and a half.
We returned to the US, and I earned my Masters in Old Testament from Columbia International University. In 1991 we went to Maturín, Venezuela, serving with the Dios Es Amor Evangelical Church. While there, I worked in Bible Institute, was part of the leadership of the church, helped begin a training institute in the local church, lead a team to plant their first daughter church, and traveled extensively throughout Venezuela to several other countries to do leadership training. After the death of my first wife, I later married Yulmari Sequea, a Venezuelan, with two children, Sarai and Rommel.
In 2019 we arrived in the US to take care of my aging mom.
In 2023 I entered into conversations with Christ’s Community Church and was later ordained by them, appointed Mission Pastor, and entrusted with the work of starting a Hispanic church. I have a vision to plant the current church, train leaders, and plant other Hispanic churches for the growing Hispanic population. I have had opportunities to lead many people to Christ, both on a personal level and through my preaching and teaching.

I serve as the Youth Pastor at Christ’s Community Church, leading our Jr. High and High School ministries, discipling young leaders, and helping students build a strong foundation in Christ. I also oversee weekly youth services, student events, outreach, and spiritual development for the next generation.
I felt called into ministry after experiencing God’s grace during a difficult season in my early twenties. While serving in the children’s ministry, God stirred a passion in me to teach the Word, walk with students through real life, and help them experience the freedom and purpose found in Jesus. That calling has grown into a life mission — to raise up strong, bold, faith-filled youth who walk closely with Christ.
My vision is to see students and families in our church and community deeply rooted in Jesus, confident in their identity in Him, and equipped to carry the Gospel into their schools, homes, and future. I believes revival starts young and spreads outward — changing families, communities, and generations.
I am passionate about discipleship and building leaders. I invest in students and young adults by encouraging spiritual growth, teaching Biblical truth, and walking alongside them as they learn to follow Jesus daily, overcome challenges, and develop their God-given purpose.
